Modeller gallery - John Nicholson

We are proud to present this gallery of  John's work.

John Nicholson is a modeller with an output that is small on quantity but large on quality. John's first love is collecting militaria, primarily German panzer uniforms and memorabilia. Once every few years he stuns us with one of his masterly dioramas. John possesses an artist's eye and a knack for adding the little details that bring his work to life. John  believes that models need to be placed in context and the only way to do this is to show them in a realistic setting. When John enters a model in a competition he usually wins his class and more often than not takes out the 'Best of Show' award to boot. Amazingly John hand paints all his models.

The picture below was taken from a short lived local publication called "Military Style". They ran an article on John and his work. John is shown hard at work in 'The Bunker" as he affectionately calls his basement study. John has built the study to house his collection of militaria. He also built  a modelling workstation that shuts away  to look a large cupboard or wardrobe at first glance. Open the double doors and you have a well appointed modelling bench with all the necessities close to hand.
